Cedar Valley-Big East baseball, softball games Aug. 3

The 4th annual Cedar Valley Conference-Big East senior baseball and 3rd annual softball games will be held? Aug. 3 in Wilton.
The night begins at 6 with one, nine-inning baseball game and two softball doubleheaders between the two teams.
The Cedar Valley Conference holds a 4-0 record against the Big East in baseball while the CVC holds a 3-1 record over the Big East in the softball games.?
The CVC softball team is led by three members of the Class 2A state champion Iowa City Regina Regals ? Shortstop Julia Hunter, pitcher/third baseman?Sara Kron and catcher Kayci McChristy.? Wilton will have two members from its 2009 state softball team in Paige Wheeler and Carlee Grunder.? Durant will send centerfielder/pitcher Allison Ralfs from the CVC Champion Wildcats.
Two members of the state qualifying Preston team will lead the Big East ? catcher Megan Zeimet and outfielder Nicole Trenkamp.?Other top players for the Big East will be Northeast Goose Lake shortstop Demi Diedrich and Bellevue?s Caley Medinger.
The CVC baseball team is led by a host of Durant Wildcats and West Branch Bears.?Durant?s Zach Downing, Collin Telsrow, Jeremy Tinkler and Skylar Dierikx along with West Branch?s Clay Cook, Logan Murry, Tyler Trimble and Jacob Sheyko will lead the CVC.
The Big East will feature many players off of their respective all-confernece list.?The strength of the Big East team will come from their strong outfielders.
A rain date has been set for Aug. 4 at the same time, at the same location in Wilton.
