CAIRO (AP) ? Islamist Mohammed Morsi arrived before Egypt's highest court to take the oath of office on Saturday as the country's first freely elected president, succeeding Hosni Mubarak who was ousted 16 months ago.

When sworn in before the Supreme Constitutional Court, Morsi will also be the Arab world's first freely elected Islamist president and Egypt's fifth head of state since the overthrow of the monarchy some 60 years ago.

The court, housed in a Nile-side structure built to resemble an ancient Egyptian temple, stands next door to a military hospital to which Mubarak, 84, was transferred about two weeks ago after suffering a health scare in a nearby prison hospital. He is serving a life sentence for failing to prevent the killing of protesters during last year's uprising.

Hundreds of soldiers and policemen guarded the building as Morsi arrived shortly after 11 a.m. local time (9 a.m. GMT) in a small motorcade. Only several hundred supporters gathered outside the court to cheer the new president and, in a departure from the presidential pomp of the Mubarak years, traffic was only briefly halted to allow his motorcade through on the usually busy road linking the city center with its southern suburbs.

Morsi took a symbolic oath on Friday in Cairo's Tahrir Square, birthplace of the 2011 uprising, before tens of thousands of mostly Islamist supporters.

A U.S.-trained engineer, the 60-year-old Morsi was scheduled to deliver his inauguration speech at Cairo University, established in 1908 as a bastion of secular education but which became a stronghold of Islamist student groups in the 1970s. Many of those student leaders have gone on to become senior members of Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood, the nation's oldest and most powerful Islamist movement.

A handover ceremony hosted by the military generals who ruled Egypt since Mubarak's ouster follows.

Morsi's Friday speech in Tahrir Square was filled with dramatic populist gestures. The 60-year-old president-elect staked a claim to the legacy of the uprising and voiced his determination to win back the powers stripped from his office by the generals.

Addressing a crowd that repeatedly shouted, "We love you Morsi!" he began his speech by joining them in chanting, "Revolutionaries and free, we will continue the journey." Later he opened his jacket wide to show that he was not wearing a bullet-proof vest. "I fear no one but God and I work for you," he told the cheering supporters. As he was leaving the podium, he pushed aside two army soldiers from his security detail to wave goodbye to the crowd.

"Everybody is hearing me now. The government ... the military and the police. ... No power above this power," he told the crowd. "I reaffirm to you I will not give up any of the president's authorities. I can't afford to do this. I don't have that right."

Morsi's defiant tone, however, could not conceal that by agreeing to take the oath before the court, rather than before parliament as is customary, he was bowing to the military's will.

The generals dissolved the Islamist-packed legislature after the same court that will swear him in Saturday ruled that a third of its members were elected illegally.

The military has also declared itself the legislative power. It gave itself control over the drafting of a new constitution and sidelined Morsi's Muslim Brotherhood, which had sought to influence the process by packing the drafting panel with Islamists.

The generals also created a National Security Council to formulate key domestic and foreign policies. Military officers outnumber civilians sitting on the council by about two-to-one, and decisions are made by a simple majority.

In his Friday speech, Morsi repeatedly returned to his main themes ? the will of the people, the importance of unity and sticking to the goals of last year's revolution.

He promised to reject any efforts to take away the "power of the people," telling his supporters: "You are the source of legitimacy and whoever is protected by anyone else will lose."

Palestinians: UN heritage nod is political victory

BETHLEHEM, West Bank (AP) ? The Palestinians on Friday persuaded the U.N. cultural agency to list the Church of the Nativity ? the place where Christians believe Jesus was born ? as an endangered World Heritage site despite misgivings by churches in charge of the basilica.

The Palestinians hailed the nod by UNESCO as a step forward in their quest for global recognition of an independent Palestine in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem, captured by Israel in 1967.

The centuries-old basilica is located in a part of the Israeli-occupied West Bank where the Palestinians have self-rule. UNESCO's decision was seen by them as validation of their rights to the territory.

"We are ecstatic," Palestinian spokeswoman Hanan Ashrawi said of Friday's 13-6 by UNESCO's World Heritage Committee, meeting in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The Palestinians had argued that the shrine faces imminent danger, both because of overdue repairs and Israel's continued occupation of the West Bank.

Israel and the U.S. strongly opposed the emergency bid, arguing that the church is not under threat, a position backed by a U.N. experts committee.

Israeli officials have said they don't object to the church being listed, but reject the "endangered" label which implies culpability of Israel, which in practice remains the ultimate sovereign in the West Bank.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Palestinians are "engaging in unilateral actions that only distance peace" and that UNESCO is driven by political considerations.

Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki said the Palestinians now plan to submit more sites in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem. The new bids could stir more political tensions, particularly in east Jerusalem, which Israel annexed to its capital after the 1967 war.

Ashrawi said Friday's vote is the beginning of a process.

"Our identity, our place in civilization, in history, are being recognized, are beginning to be safeguarded in the face of the Israeli occupation's encroachment, the confiscation of our land, our culture," she said.

The U.S. ambassador to UNESCO, David Killion, said Washington was "profoundly disappointed" by the vote. The U.S. has been trying to block the Palestinian recognition campaign, and withdrew tens of millions of dollars in funding from UNESCO after the Paris-based agency accepted the Palestinians as a state member last year.

Joining UNESCO was part of a wider Palestinian attempt to win global recognition for a state of Palestine in the territories Israel occupied in 1967.

Israelis and Palestinians were to have negotiated the borders of a Palestinian state, but two decades of intermittent talks produced no results. The last round broke off in 2008, and the Israeli and Palestinian leaders have failed to agree on rules for renewing them.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who heads a self-rule government in charge of 38 percent of the West Bank, says negotiations with Israel remain his preferred choice, but wants global recognition to improve his leverage. An attempt to win full U.N. membership has stalled, but meanwhile Palestinians are pushing for membership in U.N. agencies.

In their first move at UNESCO, they submitted the Nativity Church and a nearby pilgrimage route as endangered heritage sites, asking to fast-track the nomination rather than go through the normal 18-month procedure.

They argued that the church is in urgent need of repairs, particularly a leaky wooden roof. Palestinian officials said foreign donors promised $20 million for the work, but so far have paid only $3 million, not enough to get started.

Palestinians argued that Israel's continued control over the area also threatens the site.

A decade ago, when Israel launched a major offensive against Palestinian militants, the church was caught in the crossfire: Palestinian gunmen holed up inside for more than a month, with Israeli tanks and troops surrounding the shrine.

Referring to the violent standoff in Friday's statement, Netanyahu put the blame on the Palestinians.

"The world needs to remember that the Church of the Nativity that is so sacred to Christianity was desecrated in the past by Palestinian terrorists," he said.

Today, Bethlehem is ringed on three sides by walls of cement slabs and fences of Israel's separation barrier ? to Israel a defense against Palestinians militants, and to Palestinians a blatant land grab disguised as a security measure.

A U.N. experts committee recommended that the Palestinians go through the normal procedure, instead of seeking the "endangered" label, but the Palestinians refused to withdraw the bid.

The churches in charge of the shrine ? Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian ? also expressed concern, apparently fearing a World Heritage designation would lead to interference by the Palestinian government and the U.N.

The church is run according to a 19th century codex, known as the Status Quo which assigns responsibilities for upkeep that are jealously guarded by each denomination.

Palestinian officials say they've addressed the concerns by the churches.

In Bethlehem's Manger Square, next to the shrine, reaction was relatively muted Friday.

A celebration organized by local officials only brought several dozen people to the square, including youngsters in yellow T-shirts with the inscription "I love Jesus."

Palestinian Tourism Minister Rula Ma'ayah said she hopes the new heritage listing will bring more visitors. Currently, some 100,000 tourists come to Bethlehem every month.

Shop and hotel owners routinely complain they lose business because Israeli-run tour buses stop in Bethlehem just long enough for a visit to the church and then take pilgrims back to Jerusalem, a few kilometers (miles) to the north. During a recent visit, most shops on Star Street, part of the pilgrimage route, were closed.

Nabil Ziacaman, a souvenir shop owner, said Friday's vote is a step toward recognizing a state of Palestine, but won't help his business. "Everyone in the world knows the Church of the Nativity and where it is located," he said. The new label "won't bring more tourism."

Christina Yacoub, 20, from Lakeland, Florida, was more enthusiastic. Emerging from the church, said she expected more pilgrims now. The vote "shows how important this country is."

House ready to hold attorney general in contempt

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, goes to the House Rules Committee to argue procedures as the House of Representatives prepares to vote on whether Attorney General Eric Holder is in contempt of Congress because he has refused to give the Oversight Committee all the documents it wants related to Operation Fast and Furious, the flawed gun-smuggling probe involving Mexican drug cartels, on Capitol Hill in Washington, Wednesday, June 27, 2012. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

(AP) ? With the National Rifle Administration demanding a "yes" vote and African-American lawmakers vowing to walk out of the chamber, the House moved Thursday toward holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress in a document dispute related to a bungled gun-tracking operation.

Republicans had the votes to make Eric Holder the first sitting attorney general to be held in contempt. They cited Holder's refusal to meet Republican demands to hand over ? without any preconditions ? documents that could explain why the Obama administration initially denied that a risky "gun-walking" investigative tactic was used in Operation Fast and Furious, which allowed hundreds of guns to be smuggled from Arizona to Mexico.

The vote on a criminal contempt resolution will send the matter to the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, who is under Holder. A separate vote on civil contempt will allow the House to go to court in an effort to force Holder to turn over the documents the Oversight and Government Committee wants.

In past cases, courts have been reluctant to settle disputes between the executive and legislative branches of government.

The NRA urged House members to vote for contempt, contending the administration wanted to use Operation Fast and Furious to win gun control measures. Democrats who normally support the NRA but who vote against the contempt citations would lose any 100 percent ratings from the group.

That could affect whether they get endorsements from the powerful organization, particularly if Republican opponents surface who are strong NRA backers.

The 42-member Congressional Black Caucus said its members would walk out and refrain from voting. Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California said she was joining the boycott.

"Contempt power should be used sparingly, carefully and only in the most egregious situations," a letter from the caucus to House members said. "The Republican leadership has articulated no legislative purpose for pursuing this course of action. For these reasons, we cannot and will not participate in a vote to hold the attorney general in contempt."

Members of the Hispanic, Asian Pacific American and progressive caucuses said they also would not vote.

The dispute is both legal and political. Republicans asserted their right to obtain documents needed for an investigation of Operation Fast and Furious ? focusing on 10 months in 2011 after the Obama administration initially denied guns were allowed to "walk" from Arizona to Mexico. By year's end, the administration acknowledged the assertion was wrong.

President Barack Obama asserted a broad form of executive privilege, a legal position designed to keep executive branch documents from being disclosed. The assertion ensures that documents will not be turned over any time soon, unless a deal is reached between the administration and congressional Republicans.

In debate, however, Republicans framed the issue as the need for closure for the family of Brian Terry, a Border Patrol agent killed in December 2010 in a shootout with Mexican bandits. Two guns from Fast and Furious were found at the scene.

Democrats said the contempt issue was a political stunt to embarrass the Obama administration in an election year, and added that holding the attorney general in contempt will do nothing to bring closure to Terry's family.

Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Calif., said the contempt motions were "Fast and foolish, fast and fake."

Rep. Rich Nugent, R-Fla., took the opposite view, arguing, "A man died serving his country, and we have a right to know what the federal government's hand was in that."

Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., said Republicans picked an odd day to schedule the contempt vote.

"I find it interesting that the Republican leadership has scheduled this nonsense for the floor today when it is certain to be buried under the avalanche of news and reaction to the Supreme Court's health care decision," he said.

For the past year and a half, some Republicans have promoted the idea that Holder and other top-level officials at the Justice Department knew federal agents in Operation Fast and Furious had engaged in gun-walking.

Two of Holder's emails and one from Deputy Attorney General James Cole in early 2011 appear to show that they hadn't known about gun-walking but were determined to find out whether the allegations were true.

"We need answers on this. Not defensive BS. Real answers," Holder wrote.

The Justice Department showed the e-mails on Tuesday to Republican and Democratic staffers of the House Oversight and Government Affairs Committee, whose chairman is Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., in an effort to ward off the criminal contempt vote against the attorney general.

The full contents of the emails were described to The Associated Press by two people who have seen them. Both people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak about them publicly.

Holder has refused to turn over these and other communications unless the oversight panel dropped its subpoena for the records ? a condition unacceptable to Issa.

The department withdrew the Feb. 4 letter denying gun walking took place on Dec. 2, 2011, after documenting what had taken place not only in Operation Fast and Furious, but in three other gun-walking operations going back to 2006.

In Operation Fast and Furious, agents of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in abandoned the agency's usual practice of intercepting all weapons they believed to be illicitly purchased. Instead, the goal of the tactic known as "gun-walking" was to track such weapons to high-level arms traffickers who had eluded prosecution and to dismantle their networks.

Gun-walking long has been barred by Justice Department policy, but federal agents in Arizona experimented with it in at least two investigations during the George W. Bush administration before Operation Fast and Furious. The agents in Arizona lost track of several hundred weapons in that operation.

5 Benefits of Outsourcing Your Payroll - Save the Knish Business Blog

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) has exploded in popularity over the last ten years. Companies regularly outsource large and small projects to cut costs and increase efficiency. One of the most commonly outsourced business functions is payroll management. It doesn?t matter if you are a small business owner or a huge tycoon, you can benefit from outsourcing your payroll in the following ways.

?

Get Experts Working for You

?

A payroll company employs experts who know how a business changes as it grows. For example, some tricky situations arise when your company expands beyond state lines. A payroll expert knows what needs to be done, and what paperwork needs to be filled out. One of these companies can set everything up for you while you focus on other aspects of growing your business.?

?

Without a payroll service you would have to spend hours learning about the other states tax code while losing money and not being able to hire the employees you need. A payroll expert can have this done in an instant.

?

Free Up Resources

?

Hiring a company to manage your payroll allows you to work on other things. Payroll funding applications and processing in particular can waste a lot of your employee man hours, especially if it isn?t done by an expert. If you outsource your payroll you never have to worry about wasting precious man hours. With someone else doing your payroll, you can concentrate on important things like growing your business and maximizing profits.

?

Employees Always Get Paid On Time

?

A payroll company eliminates your worries about cutting employee checks or making direct deposits into their accounts. Your payroll provider provides all of this along with other options you may not have thought about, such as VISA payroll cards.?

?

These companies also take care of filing all the proper tax documentation and deductions for you. This eliminates the need to transfer payments to the government. You simply transfer to the company and they pay the bill on time.

?

Your Payroll Software Is Kept Up to Date

?

Payroll tax rates change, and when they do it can really mess up your old software. You need to update it with all the new information and if you don?t know exactly what you are doing it can get messy. When you outsource payroll, everything from payroll funding to software updates are taken care of for you. You never have to go through the frustration of updating your software.

?

Easy Access to Payroll Reports

?

A quality payroll service will give access to your payroll reporting info, and even allow you to create custom reports based on that data. You can easily track things like overtime, vacation days and sick days. This data can also be uploaded to your accounting system so you can keep everything balanced.?

?

Outsourcing your payroll offers business owners security and a piece of mind, along with many other benefits. Hiring a payroll company frees up resources and helps a company grow. Knowing that your payroll is being managed by a team of experts allows a business owner to concentrate on growing their business without the added headaches brought about by managing payroll.

Political uncertainty abounds as ruling looms

WASHINGTON (AP) ? The Supreme Court ruling on President Barack Obama's health care overhaul, now just hours away, marks a key pivot point in the presidential race. But neither side knows which direction the high court's decision will turn the contest.

"My guess is they're not sleeping real well at the White House tonight," presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney told supporters Wednesday in northern Virginia.

Anticipation of Thursday's decision could be equally unnerving for Romney, whose opposition to the law has become a central pillar of his campaign.

Neither candidate has any direct influence over the ruling. The court could uphold the health care law, strike it down or deem the requirement that most Americans carry health insurance unconstitutional while retaining other aspects of the law.

The announcement is expected to be followed almost immediately by a barrage of advertisements and fundraising appeals from Democrats and Republicans, all trying to cast the decision in the most advantageous light for their candidates.

The Obama campaign began trying to raise money off the ruling even before it was announced. In a Thursday morning fundraising email with the subject line "Today's Decision", Obama campaign manager Jim Messina told supporters "no matter what, today is an important day to have Barack Obama's back."

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee also issued a fundraising appeal for a "health care rapid response fund," telling supporters in an email Wednesday that however the court rules, "Democrats are in for a tough fight."

Secrecy has marked each campaign's planning for the critical moment.

Obama will be in Washington and is expected to respond, but his specific plans to do so were unclear. Romney's campaign has refused to disclose the location of a Capitol Hill venue where he will face reporters shortly after the announcement.

It is clear, however, that the Supreme Court's ruling on Obama's sweeping federal health care law will shape the contours of the presidential campaign through the summer and fall. Both Obama and his Republican rival are primed to use the outcome ? whatever it is ? for political gain.

Obama has expressed confidence the court will uphold his signature legislative initiative. But he won't be shocked if a conservative majority overturns the most controversial provision, those familiar with his thinking say. Romney aides say the Republican candidate will get a political boost if the court strikes down the measure. But they don't want celebrations that could alienate voters who could lose health care benefits through the decision.

The court's ruling could have a far-reaching impact on the nation's health care system. If the law is upheld, about 30 million of the 50 million uninsured Americans would get coverage in 2014 when a big expansion begins.

Overturning all or part of the law could leave as uninsured the more than 3 million young adults who gained coverage through a provision allowing them to stay on their parents' insurance up to age 26, according to the Health and Human Services Department. Another 60,000 people who gained coverage through a plan for those with pre-existing conditions may not be able to get coverage elsewhere if the entire law is struck down.

Obama recently has avoided mentioning the impending court ruling directly, but he has vigorously defended the health care overhaul as critical to the public's health and well-being in campaign events this week.

"I think it was the right thing to do. I know it was the right thing to do," he told supporters in Boston.

Romney, who as Massachusetts governor signed a health care law on which the Obama's federal law was modeled, has focused more than usual on the Supreme Court ruling this week. In campaign appearances in Virginia, New Jersey and New York, he offered supporters and donors a preview of his likely response to the decision and said Obama's first term would be essentially wasted if the law is overturned.

If the court upholds the law, Romney told supporters at a northern Virginia electronics manufacturer Wednesday, it's still bad policy. "And that'll mean if I'm elected president we're going to repeal it and replace it," he said.

And if the court strikes down the law, Romney said, "They're going to be doing some of my work for me. "

Obama advisers say the Supreme Court showed reasonableness earlier this week in a ruling on an Arizona immigration case, and they see it as a hopeful sign for how the court might rule on health care.

If the court upholds the law, Obama could get an election-year gust of wind at his back, with his vision and leadership validated. If the court strikes down the overhaul, the White House would seek to cast the decision as detrimental to millions of Americans by highlighting popular elements of the law that would disappear, such as preventive care and coverage for young adults on parents' plans.

The Romney campaign has coordinated its response directly with the Republican National Committee and House Republicans, who have agreed not to "spike the ball" ? as one Republican put it ? should the law be struck down. His campaign worries that an over-celebratory tone may turn off voters affected by the decision.

Indeed, the stakes are high for both candidates. Polling suggests that most Americans oppose the law, but an overwhelming majority want Congress and the president to find a new remedy if it's struck down.

Romney so far has spent little time crafting a comprehensive plan to replace the overhaul. And the Obama campaign already has seized on Romney's opposition to the most popular provisions in the law. For example, Romney would not prevent health care companies from denying coverage to new customers with medical conditions. Nor would he force them to cover young adults on their parents' plans through age 26.

Still, both sides will use it to raise money and motivate supporters. And outside groups are ready to unleash a flood of advertisements following the ruling, including a 16-state, $7 million ad buy from the conservative political action group Americans for Prosperity.

Air Force Reserve wants an app for basic training

44 min.

Military recruits have marched off to boot camp with nothing more than their families' well-wishes in the past, but today's warriors could get a little help from their smartphones. The U.S. Air Force Reserve has drawn up a wish list for a smartphone app that can help recruits adjust to basic training and military life.

The dream app combines nutrition and exercise features that even civilian smartphone owners might envy. One app feature would count calories based on photos of food taken by the phone. Another would map a recruit's runs based on their smartphone GPS. A third feature would even provide a digital assistant similar to the Apple iPhone's Siri that can talk fitness encouragement to trainees.

But the app ideas list also has plenty of military-centric features based on learning military law, chain of command or individual responsibilities as an Air Force Reserve member. Even suggested games have themes, including "Name the Military Tune" or "Weapons Familiarization" for the U.S. military's standard-issue M-16 assault rifle ? not to mention games for learning rank, chain of command, military law, and Air Force history.

Such games would combine with possible social networking features that include basic profile information (including gender, base of assignment and ship date) and help bring people together for carpooling or to cooperate in fitness challenges. The Air Force Reserve envisions the app allowing up to 4,000 users at a time accessing the Internet through smartphone, netbook, tablet or computer.

The Air Force Reserve put out the call for interested smartphone app-makers in a "request for information" notice on June 13 with an original deadline of June 26 for any interested app-makers. But it has already extended the contact due date to July 6 because of "significant interest and questions."

You *will not* believe Minnesota For Marriage's extreme rhetoric!!!!

by Jeremy Hooper

First let's start with the claims. All of these unbelievably offensive religious condemnations come from the sermons posted to a new site called MNPastorsForMarriage.com:

Homosexual behavior and Pedophilia are two very destructive immoral forces in Western civilization. It is one thing for homosexuals to practice their deviant behavior contrary to God?s design, but it was not that long ago that it seemed unimaginable that there would be a promotion of the Homosexual lifestyle within our state-directed education system. Growing up into adolescence is a complicated enough process under normal circumstances, as young men and women pass through puberty into adulthood. But when it is suggested that perhaps students may be Homosexual in orientation, and that they should experiment with a Homosexual behavior in the same way that Heterosexuals experiment, and all this is further encouraged by the availability of condoms, it is no wonder that we have a proliferation of personality disorders as well as sexually transmitted diseases. The Bible makes it very clear that sex outside of marriage, (fornication), sexual unfaithfulness between married persons (adultery), and homosexual behaviors are destructive to our human dignity, our relationships, our personalities, our society, and above all, destructive to our relationship with God Himself. [SOURCE]

My point here is simply this: to call homosexual or lesbian relationships marriage, or to treat them as marriage, is to treat an abomination as marriage. And that is the exact opposite of holding marriage in honor and keeping the marriage bed undefiled. So the first way to honor marriage in our day is not to confuse it with the abomination of homosexual or lesbian partnerships. [

SOURCE]

God's judgment on homosexual and lesbian relationships is not because he is a killjoy, but because he is opposed to what kills joy. And our opposition to such partnerships is not because of some knee-jerk homophobia, as they say again and again, but because of a settled and reasonable conviction that God knows better than anybody what is good for us and for society. [

SOURCE]

Hear me clearly: Any and all sexual sin outside of the marriage covenant relationship is a deceptive perversion of the divine pattern, but for the purposes of this message I want to focus on one sin in particular: homosexuality. The Word of God, which does not err, is abundantly clear.
...
Again, why is homosexuality a sin? Because it is open rebellion against the divine pattern, the created order of God.
?
Homosexuality is a deceptive perversion. [

SOURCE]

Homosexuals claim: "We were born this way; it is in our genes; God made us gay." They cite "gay gene" studies predominantly conducted by researchers who are homosexuals - studies that have been repudiated by credible research.10 Yet these same biased and discredited studies have been widely publicized by the liberal media as true and factual. They essentially practice Joseph Goebel's Nazi philosophy of propaganda, which is basically this: tell a lie long enough and loud enough and eventually most mindless people will believe it.

Listen: God did not make anyone homosexual. The Bible declares that the definitive problem is ours. [

SOURCE]

One of the most important things we can do as believers is to proclaim the Good News. It is ironic that those who are in the homosexual lifestyle struggle with all their might to achieve freedom from the so-called shackles of biblical morality and traditional institutions, and yet Jesus tells us that those who commit sin are ?slaves to sin? (John 8:34). In trying to find freedom, they find themselves as slaves. [

SOURCE]

So let us live and preach that message of the transforming power of the love of God in Christ Jesus! Let?s stand alongside these misguided and lost people trapped in Satan?s snare! Let?s love them out of that sinful and destructive lifestyle! Let?s lead them to Jesus who can set them free! For whom the Son sets free is free indeed! [

SOURCE]

Therefore, Satan is obsessed in destroying marriage, the coming together, fitting together of the two complimentary halves of humanity ? male and female, since they are on earth, a mirror, an image, of what is to be fulfilled at the end of this age.
And that is why we are in the battle we are in. It is not ultimately about earthly marriage, about our religious freedoms, our church?s, or even about the practice of homosexuality as such. It is about the desire of Satan to decimate the picture of God?s ultimate design for the Cosmos ? the Grand Wedding of His Son to the Prepared Bride. [

SOURCE]

So why should you care? Oh, well, if you care about church/state separation in the civil marriage debate than you should deeply care, since this MNPastorsForMarriage site (also accessible at MinnesotaPastorsForMarriage.com) is an *OFFICIAL* effort of the campaign trying to place a marriage amendment into the state's constitution:

(red arrow is mine)
201206261419
[Minnesota For Marriage]

Yup, that's right?all of the stuff you just read (pedophilia connections, claims of change, "abomination" rhetoric, "Satan's snare," etc) is all DIRECTLY CONNECTED to the OFFICIAL (and NOM-connected) campaign that is hoping to alter the state's most precious governing document at the polls this fall. Minnesota For Marriage is using all of this deeply religious, intensely personal, wildly offensive sermonizing to bring out the "traditional marriage" vote.

Wake up, folks! It's getting scary out there. And they're getting pretty damn open about it.

Qualcomm to deliver Snapdragon SDK to Android developers

Qualcomm to deliver Snapdragon SDK to Android developersAt this year's Uplinq conference, Qualcomm hit Android developers with some exciting news. In the coming months, the chip maker will deliver a Snapdragon software development kit (SDK) that will provide devs with access to the "next-generation technology and features" embedded in its processors. Through APIs, the kit will allow application architects to leverage facial processing, burst camera capture, surround sound recording, echo cancellation, sensor gestures, low power geofencing and indoor location capabilities. Initially, the SDK will only be available for the S4 8960 wafer, but Qualcomm hopes to include more models over time. Head past the break to have a gander at the full press release.

Nearly 3 in 10 have no emergency savings

By Allison Linn

Most Americans don't have enough money saved for a rainy day -- or even a cloudy one.

A new?survey from Bankrate.com finds that 28 percent of Americans haven?t saved any money at all to cover their bills in case of a job loss or other disaster.

Only 25 percent of people had six months of savings -- the usual?amount financial experts say you should have socked away for an emergency.

And six months might not even be enough?given how long it?s taken people to find a job these days. The median duration of unemployment was 20 weeks in May, or about five months, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. For older Americans it can be much longer.

Another?21?said they had some money saved up, but not even enough to cover three months of expenses.

Taken together with those who hadn?t saved at all,?49 percent of people couldn?t go three months without a paycheck. That?s up from 46 percent last year.

Still, the figure is?better than six years ago, when a similar Bankrate.com survey found that 61 percent didn?t have three months of living expenses saved up.

The recession and the weak recovery have been a wake-up call for?many Americans, sparking an increase in savings and a decline in debt.?But recently there have been signs that people are?taking on debt again for things like cars and education, and relying more on their credit cards.

It?s not clear whether that?s by choice or necessity, although Bankrate research did show that about one-third of those?surveyed were less comfortable with their savings than they were a year ago.

The survey was based on telephone interviews with 1,000 Americans.

Keio University's Kinectbased Haptic VR system lets you roll flat your own face

A research team at Keio University has built a fun haptic virtual reality system that enables you to manipulate pictures with a rolling pin. A vertically mounted Kinect takes a 3D image that is then displayed on the projection surface. Using the rolling pin, the image can be rolled over and flattened as if it was dough -- with a series of motor cranks inside the implement to replicate the necessary feedback so you can feel what it'd be like to iron out your own face. It's been designed as a modern-day update to the penny-squashing machines you found in theme parks, except with slightly more grotesqueness. You can watch the face-mashing in glorious color after the break.
